Inspired by Greek and Egyptian mythology, Gods & Thoughts was conceived to provoke—challenging perceptions of religion, gender, and the power of silence. “I wanted to make people question everything, think beyond what they were taught,” says Fred Warner. The album delivers a raw and intense experience, marked by its industrial and electronic elements, creating a sonic landscape that is both mechanical and deeply personal.

Despite its dense and provocative concept, the creation of Gods & Thoughts was not difficult. On the contrary, it was a fun and curious process that led Warner to discover interesting aspects of music production. Each track brought new challenges and discoveries, making the album not just an artistic expression but also a learning experience in sonic experimentation.

The album emerged naturally, without the weight of expectations or rigid planning. What started as a creative experiment quickly evolved into a fully realized work in a short period. The process was driven by instinct and curiosity, reinforcing the idea that music can be most powerful when it flows freely.

Gods & Thoughts deeply reflects Warner’s passion for Greek and Egyptian culture, which unexpectedly inspired him in the creative process. These ancient mythologies intertwined with contemporary issues of identity, faith, and power, offering a rich foundation for the themes explored in the album.

In addition to exploring mythology, the album offers a critique of how religion can often shape people’s thinking in restrictive and harmful ways. Warner recognizes the value of faith as a source of support for many, but he also highlights how, in some cases, religion is manipulated to justify cruelty, intolerance, and prejudice.

This includes the judgment of sexuality, a deeply personal aspect of identity that is often distorted by religious norms, leading to exclusion and shame. The album confronts these societal constraints, questioning how such beliefs impact individuals, particularly those who don’t conform to traditional expectations.

Gods & Thoughts is not just an album; it is a statement. It dismantles conventional ideologies, invites introspection, and demands discussion. With its mythological references and industrial-electronic sonic landscape, Fred Warner creates a work that refuses to be ignored, pushing the boundaries of music and meaning.

In the end, it’s about breaking free from the chains of imposed expectations and embracing the power of self-expression. It’s about questioning everything and, in doing so, finding a truer sense of who we really are.

Through this album, I hope to inspire others to explore the depths of their own identity, challenge the narratives imposed upon them, and ultimately, find the freedom to be their authentic selves.
