“For some, it's the way they live, what they consume and what they eat - and it always will be”
Carlos Frederico, known professionally as Fred Warner, is a Brazilian artist born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. He first gained attention by openly discussing his journey as a singer and producer on social media, paired with his unapologetic "I hate hypocrisy" attitude.
As an independent artist, Fred Warner debuted in 2012 with StarFuckDream, a bold fusion of electro-clash, synth-pop, and techno, driven by heavy kicks and a rebellious edge. Deeply inspired by the 2003 film Party Monster by Fenton Bailey & Randy Barbato — especially Disco Bloodbath by James St. James, Macaulay Culkin's portrayal, and the underground nightlife in Rio — his first album was a statement of identity and defiance.
Four years later he compiled twenty-three self-produced and self-written tracks, marking his deep dive into music production and the endless possibilities of DAWs. The result was 23 Reasons, a record infused with 1950s aesthetics, American hip-hop influences, and the unmistakable impact of Marilyn Manson.
In 2017, he unveiled The Fierce Fancy (Deluxe Edition), a dark-pop manifesto blending mainstream beats with raw, introspective critiques. “Everything on this album is personal—I talk about ego, sex, sexuality, fear, anxiety, and toxic relationships,” he explains.
Drawing from Greek and Egyptian mythology, Gods & Thoughts (2019) was designed to provoke—challenging perceptions of religion, gender, and the power of silence. “I wanted to make people question everything, to think beyond what they’ve been told.”
SADGASM was initially set for release in 2020 but was delayed until 2022 due to personal struggles. “I had to put it on hold because I was going through a rough time, dealing with mental health issues and generalized anxiety disorder—something I’m still learning to live with.”
“Even after so many treatments, I still don’t fully understand why I feel this way. Maybe it’s because I can’t grasp how people can be so cruel, living in hypocrisy, pretending nothing is wrong in this world,” he reflects.
“SADGASM is a reflection of everything I’m experiencing right now. It’s a blend of sadness, anxiety, and so much more, but creating it allowed me to release all of that darkness inside me. It’s my most personal work yet—a mix of hard-hitting beats and deeply melancholic lyrics.”
“If it weren’t for Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, The Distillers, Peaches, and System of a Down speaking out about hypocrisy, government, sex, and deeper truths, I wouldn’t be doing what I do today—I wouldn’t be who I am. There has to be something aggressive, disruptive, and unconventional to shake people out of their little boxes. When people start thinking, the world will change.”
